Special Theme for August: Fan Painting
The Chicago Chinatown Visitor Center proudly presents a special hands-on cultural art experience with renowned artist and educator Liping Zhang. This month’s featured workshop focuses on the traditional art of Chinese fan painting, where participants will create their own hand-painted fan using classic brush techniques and culturally rich themes.
August 16 Featured Art Forms
- Chinese Calligraphy– Learn to write meaningful characters such as 福 (blessing), 爱 (love), or your own name using traditional brush and ink.
- Panda Painting– Paint adorable pandas with expressive brushstrokes, a beloved symbol of harmony and friendship.
- Bamboo Painting– Discover how to paint elegant bamboo, a symbol of resilience and strength in Chinese culture.
