Workshop Theme for June: Celebrate Culture, Taste Tradition
The Chicago Chinatown Visitor Center is proud to present an exclusive partnership with world-renowned Chef Tony Hu, founder of the iconic Lao Sze Chuan Restaurants with 14 locations across the country. This hands-on cooking workshop is more than just a culinary lesson—it’s a cultural experience. We invite you to connect with Chinese heritage in a warm, interactive setting where every dish tells a story, and every bite is a celebration of tradition.
Workshop Highlights
This month’s featured menu for June 13, 2025, includes two signature Sichuan-style dishes:
- Chef’s Special Dry Chili Chicken
- Stir-Fried Eggplant & Green Beans
Both dishes are well-loved by locals and visitors alike, and were carefully selected for their rich flavors, visual appeal, and cultural significance. They reflect the bold, spicy, and savory characteristics that define Sichuan cuisine, while also offering a balanced experience—one spicy, one mild—so participants of all spice preferences can enjoy the workshop. Together, these two recipes showcase the essence of Sichuan home-style cooking, making them ideal for both first-time cooks and seasoned foodies alike.
